Integrative Medicine

Omri Sitton, DC

Omri’s curiosity about the body led him to complete his undergraduate work at Florida International University in Biochemistry and Biology.  As a stressed out pre-medical student, Omri developed a chronic low back condition that brought about lots of interesting questions regarding self care.  He decided to go to chiropractic school to learn how to better care for himself and eventually others.

Dr. Omri has been studying and practicing bodywork, health and energy healing since 1997.  He graduated from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas in December of 2000.  Trained in over 10 chiropractic techniques, Dr. Omri gravitated towards gentle, energy-based bodywork because “it feels most honoring to receive, creates long-lasting results and practice members love it.”

Dr. Omri has achieved the highest level of certification of Network Chiropractic (Network Spinal Analysis) through the Association for Network Care.

He passionately continues to study, refine and evolve the repertoire of techniques that he utilizes in practice, including Network Chiropractic, Somato Respiratory Integration, Zero Balancing, Percussion Vibration and Bioenergy.

Dr. Omri has been assisting Dr. Rick Weigand with the Access Workshop since 2004.  These workshops help train doctors on developing greater awareness and insights through developing their own “perception training skills” and how to improve their efficacy, regardless of techniques utilized in clinical practice.

Dr. Omri will be furthering his studies in 2010 by taking courses with one of the world’s most studied and researched energy healers, Mietek Wirkus.  Studying how to work with energy directly is having a huge impact on the other modalities that he currently offers his clients.  Energy medicine has been gaining credibility in the west and Mietek has been one of the leaders in these efforts.

Dr. Omri’s approach to healing is deeply rooted in vitalistic principles that trust and encourage the body’s innate wisdom.  Rather than try and fix things, his approach is to help remove obstacles interfering with one’s self-health and to teach his clients how to deepen their own connection to their body, mind and life.  His bodywork entrainments (coordination of consciousness and ease through light touch) utilizes inner resources of breath, energy, movement and focused attention to achieve a more sustainable state of health, wellness and joy in all aspects of one’s internal and external environments.

Utilizing personal experience of Meditation, Chi Gong and Continuum Movement practices has greatly impacted the depth of his teachings and bodywork style.

Dr. Omri has owned “Network Chiropractic Wellness Center” in Santa Cruz since 2005 and is very excited to be a part of the gifted healing community known as “The Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine and Chi Center” and to continue to provide wellness care to our community.

Omri's Approach, Intentions and Purpose of Care:

My approach to bodywork and healing is catered to the individual and in the moment.  I don't believe in a cookie-cutter approach, as different individuals have different affinities to various techniques.   I assist clients to cultivate a deeper connection to their body so that there is more awareness of breath, movement, energy and focused attention.  In utilizing these inner tools, clients learn to create more space for their own healing to take place.  Assisted focus beyond the current perception of one's symptom(s), allows greater possibilities to occur in one's body, mind and life.

I believe that healing comes from within.  The greatest gift I could offer my clients is to teach them how to get more intimate with self-facilitated healing.  On my personal journey with my body, I discovered that someone trying to "fix" me was not nearly as effective as my body's own ability to heal and self correct.  My interactive approach to chiropractic, bodywork and energy healing emphasizes these concepts.  Over the last decade, I have found that teaching someone inner tools that will last them a lifetime rather than just a quick fix, is much more empowering and helps people create a more connected and fulfilling life through a journey of healing.

My purpose is to assist our community in achieving health and wellness goals though acknowledging and honoring individuals and the direction of growth they desire and deserve.

The purpose of my purpose is to enhance the global experience, embodiment and expression of Love, Connection and Gratitude.
