Larry Bernstein

Larry Bernstein is a body-mind medicine therapist with over 35 years of experience in the field of health care.  He is a certified therapist in several disciplines, including Craniosacral, Polarity, Zero Balancing, Orthobionomy, Myofascial, Somatics, Structural Integration, and various other forms of somatic therapy.

Believing in the functional wholeness of each person, Larry's practice provides a space where a client's own physical, emotional, cognitive and energetic resources get what they need to facilitate healing and change for any health concern.  It is a process of assisting each person to meet what is going on in their life and to understand the possibilities available to them.

As a strong advocate of education, Larry is continually conducing and integrating research into the fields of body-mind integration and health care.  As Director of Operations at the Plaza Santa Maria Hospital in Mexico, Larry collaborated with an international team of health care professionals to provide the highest level of patient care available anywhere in the world at that time.  A state certified teacher of several disciplines, he created the Cypress Health Institute in Santa Cruz in 1982 which continues to consistently train some of the best bodywork therapists available today.  Larry is currently the Director of Education at the Santa Cruz Integrative Medicine & Chi Center.  He is establishing comprehensive educational certification programs in somatic practices from around the world.

Working with Doctors Without Boarders and Remote Medical, Larry, his colleagues and graduates, help provide care to people in disaster areas.  Larry also organizes volunteers for local non-profit events such as Bike to Work Day, Alzheimers's Memory Walk, and the Easter Seals Disabled Kids Camp.
